Careers & Internships

As the nation’s top supercomputing facility, the National Center for Computational Sciences (NCCS) is dedicated to solving real-world scientific problems, such as climate change and alternative energy, through research and simulation. Located at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), the organization is home to the world’s fastest open-science computer, Jaguar, which has a speed of 119 teraflops, or
119 trillion calculations per second.

As the NCCS continues to grow, the organization seeks talented, dedicated people to maintain its standing as one of the world’s top high-performance computing facilities.

ORNL is managed by UT-Battelle, a not-for-profit company, which was created for the sole purpose of managing and operating the laboratory for the U.S. Department of Energy. With funding in excess of
$1 billion and a staff of more than 4,000, ORNL is one of the world’s foremost research centers and one of the United States’ largest national laboratories.

UT-Battelle is recognized by our employees and the community as an inclusive environment where diversity is valued and individuals and teams are inspired to contribute fully to the organization’s success.
